Guys like this need to go down to the local Votech school and give a presentation about himself and his business. He could offer summer jobs to 2 or 3 seniors, so they can experience what real mechanic work is about. He obviously has the work coming in. The kids don't have to be the best in their class, they just need a passion for working on machines.
The best thing for these kids is to get them away from the computers, including their phones. The only way we are going to preserve the art of machine repair is to pass it on to the next generation. The schools are not teaching it. Art requires intuition, determination and passion, which is not usually found in schools. We as mechanics have to show these kids an alternative to the current computer model of machine repair. Otherwise those skills will disappear.
