Replace door latch

I have a 1965 FFPW the passenger door is missing the latch on the door that connects to the post to lock the door in and have a dooner door with the latch mechanism that I removed but with the window bar I can�t get the latch back in the donut door was cut a little so I could get the latch and the arm out is there any way to install this without cutting into the door skin thanks mark
