This low compression of the head gasket is a bit of an eye opener for me, it explains why it's so important to have no warp in the head or block, and proper torque on the head bolts; it doesn't take much warp or improper torque before there isn't any compression of the gasket at all.
The thickest gasket that I measured was .077" - .078". It was copper faced on both sides, but had blown out between cylinders 5 & 6. So I'm thinking that I hadn't done a good job on torqueing the head bolts.
