Since the glass went in fairly easy, the problem is with the frame. Over time the frame joint tapping plates on each side of the frame can become "V'd" strained from the weight of the lower frame when the windshield is open. Look at the side where the plates are connected by 4 screws to see if the frame is in good straight alignment, that maybe why the glass cracked horizontally. The plates may need straightening. If you need a photo let me know.
- As far as the sealer, I used DAP Black Dynaflex Ultra. It stays flexible and holds the glass well. As I mentioned in my post below I didn't force it into the channel. I used sections of 1/16 glass setting tape about 1-1/2 long to set the glass in an old frame. If you have to separate the frame to remove the glass, just use a safety razer between the sealer and glass to separate it for easy removal. If you use Dynaflex, don't worry about over sealant on the frame or glass when using the "V" tool, you can remove the sealant by trimming along the frame/glass with a safety razor and peeling off the excess.
